Type As Space
This poster was designed for the hypothetical exhibit titled Type As Space. Utilizing only typographic elements, 2D and 3D illusions were created through the use of light, perspective, and overlapping planes. Doing so allowed me to control the relationship between the letter forms and the surface of the paper to develop a deceptive representation of space beyond the page.
Temperature Chart
This chart was designed as a Bay Area daily temperature and rainfall diagram for 2008. Through organization and editing, a chart was created that is easily accessible via both macro and micro views for the orientation of prospective visitors and residents. Dynamic divisions of color are used to separate mean temperatures and to visually activate the linear progression.
Lars Muller Catalog
This multi-page catalog presents a series of Swiss books by the well-known publishing house Lars Müller Publishers. The layout design and typographic hierarchy is meant to relate to those who are attracted to Swiss Design by referencing that style through the use of a strict grid sans serif typography and also by utilizing a consistent line detail.
San Diego Identity
The concept of the mark is based on the analysis of the three main industries in San Diego: defense, manufacturing, and tourism. Abstractly, the circular shapes reflect defense and protection, which have been repeated to indicate manufacturing, and the organic wave provides an inviting feeling to visitors.

A collaborative project with involving the students in a BFA class to explore how we think, when designing, through annual food holidays. The information presented is meant to be fun and practical those may who receive as a gift. The concept revolves around celebrating one food holiday in different months of the year and to engage in food culture.
San Francisco Jazz
This poster establishes a unified, clear, and organized system of information. It expresses improvisation through the relationships between the columns of type. Each column dances in a vertical arrangement, indicating the extemporaneous nature of jazz. The colors represent a tasty visualization of a mild summer day in the City of SF.
Education for All
This project was centered around education and why a child may not have access to one, identifies solutions, and shows the relationships between the categories. The content provides knowledge that a viewer can relate to, which will lead to understanding current problems and possible solutions and the will target the need for change.
Load of Crap
A packaging project created to interact with someone in a particular emotional state, in this case feelings experienced when having a terrible day, month, or year, and the pain that one feels trapped by, and that others may not outwardly see or recognize. These feelings are represented by nails that are sharp and the pain echoed by experience of using these products.
Alcatraz Wayfinding
A collaborative project to develop a wayfinding system to help visitors orient themselves in the physical space and add to their experience on the island. I was the lead designer for the pieces displayed here. The concept, form, materials, and styles were all centered around things found on the island and for the very nature of what the island has represented throughout time.
